Assault

On August 31st, a male was assaulted in the 1400 block of Lorne Ave resulting in minor injuries. The suspect fled the scene prior to Police arrival but was located the following day. A 44yr old Brandon man has subsequently been charged with assault and will appear in Court in November.

 

Fraud Use of Debit Card

On June 19th, Police received a fraud complaint where it was alleged that a male suspect fraudulently used the complainant’s bank card, after being given access to it, to purchase groceries on her behalf. The investigation revealed that over period of 8 months this male suspect used the card for personal purchases or cash withdrawals for a total of approximately $10,000. On September 1st, the 45yr old male suspect was located, charged and will appear in Court in November.

 

Warrants Executed

  • A 24yr old was arrested yesterday, September 1st, on the strength of an Endorsed Warrant for Failing to Comply with his Probation Order. The male was released to appear in Court in September.
  • Overnight, a person’s check in the zero hundred block of 10th St. lead to a 55yr old woman being arrested for her outstanding Warrant for Theft Under $5,000 and Fail to Attend Court. She will appear in Court in October.
  • Just before midnight a male was checked in the 500 block of Richmond Ave and found to have an Unendorsed Warrant of Arrest for Possess Property Obtained by Crimea, Possess Break-in Instruments and Fail to Attend Court x2. The 29yr old was lodged to appear in Court in the morning.

 

Intoxicated Persons Detention Act

In the last 24hrs 4 persons were arrested for being intoxicated and Police were unable to find a sober, responsible person to turn them over to, as a result they were lodged in cells to be released once sober. One of the individuals, a 44yr old male was subsequently charged for consuming liquor in a public place
