Police Media Release - September 16, 2024

Theft Under $5000 / Carry Concealed Weapon X2 / Possession of Dangerous Weapon X2

On Saturday, September 14th an employee from the 1500 block of 18th Street reported a female who came into their store, took an “armful” of various items and left in a taxi.

On Sunday, September 15th the suspect was located by police walking out of a building in the 100 block of 10th Street. A search upon arrest resulted in finding a knife and an imitation Glock handgun from the suspect’s purse.

The surveillance obtained and items recovered revealed thefts from four Brandon stores with quantities of $1600 from store 1 and $1000 from store 2 which were recovered. The suspect was also identified as responsible for $1000 of items stolen from store 3 and approximately $800 stolen from store 4 – of which these items were not recovered.

The 34-year-old female was arrested then later released on an Undertaking with a court date of November 6th, 2024.

 

Failure to Comply-Undertaking X2 / Failure to Attend Court X2

On Sunday, September 15th at 8:25 PM a person’s check was conducted in the back lane near 8th and Rosser Avenue. The 26-year-old female was found to have several arrest warrants. She was arrested and later released with an Appearance Notice and a court date of January 9th, 2025, in Flin Flon, MB.

 

Failure to Comply with Release Order

On Sunday, September 16th at 1:20AM a 28-year-old female was observed by police and was known to have a curfew (Release Order). She was arrested and held in detention cells with court in the morning.

 

IPDA

On September 15th at 11:05PM police were contacted regarding a 43-year-old female who was intoxicated and had left a Campground on foot. She was found approximately 2-3 kilometers east of Brandon. She was held in detention cells until sober.

 

Failure to Comply with Release Order (Curfew)

On Sunday, September 16th at 3:15AM a persons check was conducted on a 39 year old male in the 900 block of Victoria Avenue. He was found to be breaching his curfew condition and was arrested. He was held in detention cells and will attend court in the morning.
