Police Media Release - October 25, 2024

Winnipeg Police Service Arrest Warrant

A 30-year-old female called in aware police were looking for her and she was arrested in the 700 block of Aberdeen on the strength of the WPS Endorsed Warrant. She was later released on an Undertaking to appear in court on December 18th, 2024, in Winnipeg.

 

Theft Under $5000

At 1:02 PM a report came in of meat being stolen from a grocery store in the 1500 block of 18th Street. The male was arrested in the 500 block of 15th Street. The subject had attempted to sell the $250 worth of stolen meat to a staff member post theft. The male was arrested, charged, and released on an Undertaking with a court date of December 23rd, 2024.

 

Possession for Purpose of Trafficking / Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime / Warrant of Arrest – Breach of Probation

At 2:43PM a cab was observed with two passengers who were not wearing their seatbelts. The cab was pulled over in the 800 block of 13th Street. The 38-year-old male in the vehicle was observed stuffing meth between the seats. There was ¼ oz of meth and $150 cash in his possession. He was arrested and later released on an Undertaking with a court date of December 12th, 2024.

 

Arrest Warrant – Break, Enter and Assault

A 35-year-old female was in the cab of the above incident with the 38-year-old male. She had an outstanding Warrant of Arrest. She was arrested, held in detention cells and will attend court in the morning.

 

Assault

On October 11th a report of an assault was received of a 14-year-old female assaulting another 14-year-old female student in the hallway of a Brandon High school. On October 24th at 4:40PM she turned herself in to BPS. She was arrested, then later released on an Undertaking with a court date of January 28th, 2025.

 

Immediate Roadside Prohibition

An officer on patrol witnessed a SUV run into a parked vehicle near Lorne Avenue East and Percy Street. The driver was pulled over and failed two breathalyzers. The 54-year-old male had an immediate roadside prohibition, license suspended, and the vehicle was towed and impounded.

 

Possession of Property Obtained by Crime / Possession for Purpose of Trafficking– Cocaine / Endorsed Warrant of Arrest X2

At 2:32AM on October 25th a walkthrough of a hotel in the 3100 block of Victoria Avenue resulted in locating a 28-year-old female who had two Warrants of Arrest (Breach of Release Order - Curfew). Upon arrest she was found to have a scale, several empty gram baggies, approximately 5grams cocaine, and approximately $3080 cash. The female was sober, arrested, held in detention cells and will attend court in the morning on October 25th, 2024.

 

Breach of Peace / Littering Ticket

At 3:58AM an employee from the airport reports a male trying to look through cars, banging on the doors, attempting to get into buildings, and stating to staff that he’s angry. Police officers attended and located a confrontational 30-year-old male. Surveillance showed the male dumping the trash and recycling cans on the sidewalk and roadway as well. The male was arrested and had a ticket issued. He was held in detention cells and will be released the following day.
