Police Media Release - October 24, 2024

Winnipeg Arrest Warrant – Failure to Comply with Probation X2

At 8:21 AM a 22-year-old male attended Brandon Police Service (BPS) and turned himself in on an unendorsed Warrant of Arrest. The male was sober, held in detention cells and will attend court in the morning on October 24th, 2024.

 

Public Mischief

At 10:09AM BPS received a request from the RCMP to attend Brandon Correctional Centre and execute an unendorsed Warrant of Arrest for a 37-year-old female. Held for court.

 

Theft Under $5000

At 12:31 PM an employee of a business in the Corral Centre reports a thief in custody for shoplifting $450 worth of merchandise. BPS attended and picked up the 37-year-old male. He was held in custody and will attend court in the morning on October 24th, 2024.

 

Theft Under $5000 X2

At 2:27 PM a female was observed stealing items from a business in the 1500 block of 18th Street. (Value of $492). BPS attended and picked up the 34-year-old female. She was held in custody and will attend court in the morning on October 24th, 2024. Records reveal she had a previous unendorsed Warrant of Arrest also for Theft Under $5000.

 

Operation of Conveyance While Prohibited

At 9:47 AM police stopped a vehicle in the 1600 block of 1st street north as it was unregistered. The 30-year-old male operator of the vehicle gave his identity and admitted the vehicle was not registered nor did he have a license. It was found that the male was prohibited from driving Canada wide. The male was arrested, charged and later released on an Appearance Notice with a court date of December 23rd, 2024.

 

Operation of Conveyance While Prohibited

At 8:38 PM a vehicle stop in the 3000 block of Victoria Avenue was conducted and the operator of the vehicle was found to be prohibited from driving. He was arrested, charged and later released on an Appearance Notice with a court date of January 9th, 2025.

 

Theft Under $5000

At 9:00 PM police were called to a business in the Corral Centre where they had a thief detained. (Value of $25.98). BPS attended and the 49-year-old woman, who was aggressive towards staff, was arrested, charged, and later released on an Undertaking with a court date of January 9th, 2025.

 

Failure to Comply with Probation

At 10:45 PM police located a male in the 700 block of 6th Street. It was confirmed the male was breaching a Probation Order curfew (9pm-7am). The 14-year-old male was charged accordingly and released to a guardian. Court date set for December 24th, 2024.

 

Breach of Peace

At 12:41 AM police were called to a hotel in 000 block of 10th Street where a male was intoxicated and stated he could throw people out the window. He refused to leave and locked himself in a bathroom. Police attended and arrested the 47-year-old male. He will be held in detention cells until sober.
