Police Media Release - October 19, 2024

Warrants Executed:

A 18 year old male turned himself into the Brandon Police Service after becoming aware of a warrant for his arrest for breaching probation. He was released with a later court date.

A 17 year old female attempted to turn herself in at Brandon Correctional Center on her breach of probation warrant. She was lodged until sober and released with a later court date.

 

Breach of Probation:

At 1:42 pm hours a 49-year-old male attended an address in the 200 block of 9th street which breached his probation order. He was arrested at Brandon Police Service later in the day and was released on an undertaking with a later court date.

 

Uttering Threats:

BPS received multiple calls throughout the afternoon of an intoxicated male loitering in businesses in the west end of Brandon along Victoria Avenue. A 44-year-old male was eventually arrested in the 3300 block of Victoria Avenue after threatening staff at business nearby. He was lodged until sober and released on an undertaking with a later court date.

 

Breach of release order and theft under $5000

At 10:14 pm an 18 year old female was found in the 100 block of Louise Avenue where it was determined she was breaching her 24 hour curfew and had just stolen approximately $120 worth of goods from a nearby store. She was lodged at BPS and held for court in the morning.

 

Possession of Stolen Property

At 11:14 pm police checked a 34 year old male in the 800 block of Southern Avenue where it was determined he was in possession of a stolen bike. The bike was seized to be returned to the owner and the male was released on an undertaking with a later court date.

 

Robbery

At 6:22 pm BPS received a report of a robbery occurring at an establishment in the 1100 block of 18th Street. The complainant advised his cell phone had been stolen from him by an unknown male during a confrontation. At 3:02 am police located a 30 year old male matching the suspect’s description still in possession of the phone, he was arrested and held for court in the morning.

 

Possession of Stolen Vehicle

At 3:53 am a 23-year-old male was stopped in a black Kia Sorento that was flagged as stolen out of Souris in August of 2024. This male was arrested and released on an appearance notice with a later court date.
