Police Media Release - November 6, 2024

Resist Arrest / Trespass Act Ticket

On November 5th at 1:01PM staff from a business in the 100 block of 7th Street reported ongoing issues with trespassers setting up camp behind sea cans on the parking lot. Staff attempted to ask the trespassers to leave but were met with aggression. When Police attended, a 30-year-old male trespasser became confrontational with police when told he was being issued a trespass ticket. The male tried to escape by hopping over a railing. He was arrested, then later released on an Undertaking with a court date of January 9th, 2025.

 

Break, Enter & Theft / Disguise with Intent / Failure to Comply with Undertaking

On November 5th at 12:35PM a 13-year-old male youth was arrested in the 1200 block of Victoria Avenue when a persons check was conducted. (Warrant for Arrest: Failure to Comply with Undertaking).

He was also a suspect in a Break and Enter to the Quik-Stop in the 100 block of 18th Street and arrested for that and related offenses arising from the incident. His guardian was notified, and he was kept in detention cells with court in the morning on November 6th, 2024.

High School Incident

On November 5th Brandon Police Service High School Resource Officer received a report about an in individual with a weapon in the vicinity of the school. BPS attended to the school and two individuals causing concern, a 14-year-old male and a 14-year-old female, were detained in the vicinity of the school. Noone was harmed. Both youths are currently subject of an Undertaking and each breached a respective condition.

The two youth were held in custody and will attend court in the morning on November 6th, 2024.

Failure to Comply – Undertaking

On November 5th at 3:45PM a 14-year-old male attended BPS knowing there was a Warrant for Arrest. The youth was released on an Appearance Notice with a court date of December 3rd, 2024.

 

RCMP Warrant: Sexual Assault / Sexual Interference / Failure to Attend Court

On November 6th at 5:36AM a 40-year-old male driving a vehicle was stopped in the 600 block of 12th Street who was wanted on an RCMP Warrant. He was held at BPS until a court date was provided by RCMP and released on an undertaking. Court date of December 23rd, 2024.  

 

Breach of Peace

In the afternoon of November 5th two individuals with two seperate incidents were arrested for Breach of Peace and held in detention cells to prevent further issues. They will be released in the morning.
