Police Media Release - November 5, 2024

Theft Under $5000
On October 27th, 2024, a report of a male and female shoplifting in a store in the 900 block of Victoria Avenue came in to Police. Security footage assisted in identifying the suspects – 34-year-old female and 32-year-old male. On November 4th at 12:32PM they were located and arrested. They were released on an Undertaking with a court date of January 13th, 2025.
Failure to Attend Court
On November 4th, 2024, a 32-year-old male turned himself in to Brandon Police Station (BPS) on an outstanding Warrant of Arrest. He was released with a court date of December 17th, 2024, in Minnedosa.
Motor Vehicle Vs. Pedestrian
On November 4th, 2024, a report of a Motor Vehicle Collision vs Pedestrian at 1st Street and McTavish Avenue came in. A 70-year-old female pedestrian was taken to hospital via ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries. The 47-year-old male driver indicated he was travelling west bound on McTavish, turning South bound onto 1st street and didn’t see the pedestrian due to the position of the sun. Witness statements were collected and no charges were laid.
Uttering Threats / Possession of a Weapon
On October 20th, a 47-year-old male reports his partners’ son, 22-year-old male, came into the home, demanding money, grabbed a knife and threatened the complainant. The 22 year old male dropped the knife as soon as his Mom told him to. He was originally arrested for Breach of the Peace as there didn’t appear to be a complaint. Since then, the 47-year-old male attended to BPS and provided a statement and wanted the 22-year-old charged. On November 4th, 2024, at 8:13PM the subject attended to BPS and was arrested and charged. He was later released on an Appearance Notice with a court date of January 20th, 2025.
Assault
On July 5th, 2024, a report of an assault came in to police where a 32-year-old male struck his 26-year-old girlfriend in the face during a disagreement. The complainant had visible injuries from the incident. Upon statements being completed the male was located, arrested and charged on November 4th, 2024. He was released on an Undertaking with a court date of November 18th, 2024.
Attempted Theft of Motor Vehicle / Mischief Under $5000
On November 4th at 8:37PM reports of a disturbance in the 1000 block of 7th Street came in to police. A 21-year-old male attempted stealing a family vehicle, damaged the windshield and rear-view mirror and upon police arrival fled on foot. He was soon located in the area. He was released on an Undertaking with a court date of January 9th, 2025.
