Police Media Release - November 27, 2024

Breach of Court Order

On November 26th at 09:49 am Police attended to Brandon Correctional Center and arrested a 39-year-old male for breaching his court order. Investigation revealed the male had spent over 1700 minutes in phones calls to a female he was on a court order not to communicate with. The accused was held in custody at the correctional center and will appear in court on November 27th, 2024.

 

Arrest Warrant

On November 26th at 11:12 am Police were investigating an unrelated incident in the 1200 block of 20th street when they came across a male who was known to have a warrant for his arrest. A 40-year-old male was arrested for Mischief Under $5000 and released for a court date of December 16th, 2024.

 

Possession of a Weapon

On November 26th at 12:32 p.m Police received a call to an intuition in the 500 block of Park Street reporting concerns that a 13-year-old male may have a weapon. The 13-year-old male was located by police and found to be in possession of a pellet gun. The accused was arrested for possession of a weapon and released for court on January 14th, 2025.

 

Assault with a weapon

On November 26th at 2:45 pm Polie received a call to the 800 block of Rosser Avenue for a male that had been assaulted. A 29-year-old female was arrested as she had struck the male over the head with a piece of lumber. No life-threatening injuries were reported, and the accused was later released for court on January 23rd, 2024.

 

Fraudulent Use of Credit card

On November 26th at 06:33 am Police received a report that a vehicle had been broken into in the 700 block of Vanhorne Avenue. The complainant reported their purse with contents was taken. Investigation revealed the owner’s card had been used to make a purchase at a business in the 700 block of 10th street. Police viewed the video surveillance and were able to identify the person using it. At 12:25 p.m a 21-year-old female was arrested and released for court on February 6th, 2025.

 

Impaired Driver/Public Mischief

On November 26th at 7:31 pm Police received a call of an erratic driver in the 1300 block of 13th street. Police located the vehicle and A traffic stop was initiated. The 51-year-old male driver was arrested as he was deemed to be impaired by drugs. He was later released once sober for court on December 12th, 2024. A 40-year-old female passenger was also arrested as she provided police with a false name, she will appear in court on February 6th, 2025.

 

Assault Causing bodily harm

On November 26th at 8:57 pm Police received a call of a disturbance at the Brandon Regional Health Center. A female had assaulted two staff members and when a security officer tried to intervene, he was punched in the face causing a cut lip and a damaged tooth. A 30-year-old female was arrested and held for court on November 27th, 2024.
