Public Mischief / Failure to Attend Court
On November 20th at 4:36AM police observed a female approach an unoccupied vehicle with its hazards on in the 200 block of 18th Street North. The female was carrying a gas can and gave police a false name. Once properly identified she was found to have an outstanding Warrant of Arrest. She was arrested and held in detention cells for court in the morning on November 21st, 2024. BPS reaching out to owner of vehicle.
Theft Under $5000
On November 19, 2024, an employee from a store in the 3400 block of Victoria Avenue reported a theft of approximately $48.00 in merchandise, which occurred on November 4, 2024. Security footage assisted in identifying the 41-year-old male suspect. Attempts to locate suspect were negative.
On November 20, 2024, at 9:22AM an employee from the same store reported the same male re-attended the store, filled a backpack with meat and toilet paper before leaving. Police located and arrested the male in the 3100 block of Victoria Avenue. He was also in possession of stolen merchandise from another Brandon store, however; they were not interested in pursuing charges. The male was released on an Appearance Notice with a court date of January 30th, 2025.
Possession of a Weapon / Aggravated Assault
On November 20th at 7:29AM a 58-year-old male attended BPS knowing he was wanted on outstanding charges following his involvement in a stabbing incident on November 17th, 2024, in front of an establishment in the 900 block of Rosser Avenue. He was released on an Undertaking with a court date of February 6th, 2025.
Attempted Robbery / Assault with a Weapon
On November 19th, 2024, at 6:19PM, police responded to a report of an unwanted male at a business on Middleton Avenue. Members identified the 34-year-old male and were aware he was wanted for an attempted Robbery earlier in the day. He was arrested, held in detention cells and attended court on November 20th, 2024.
Breach of Peace
On November 20th, at 10:14AM an employee at a health Centre reported a 26-year-old female punched an employee, and security had her restrained. Recipient of Assault declined to proceed with charges. Female arrested and held in detention cells until sober.
Possession of Credit Card / Failure to Attend Court / Failure to Attend Ident / Mischief to Property Under $5000
On November 20th at 3:36PM while conducting a walkthrough of a business in the 800 block of Pacific Avenue police came across a 40-year-old female who was wanted on an outstanding Warrant of Arrest. She was served an Appearance Notice for court on December 19th, 2024.
IPDA
On November 20th at 4:12PM staff from a business in the 300 block of 10th Street requested police remove an intoxicated male who was passed out in a booth and had been there since 1:00PM. The intoxicated 44-year-old male was held in detention cells until sober.
Breach of Peace
On November 20th at 10:04PM police were called to a disturbance in the 100 block of 13th Street where an intoxicated 27-year-old was trying to fight family members. She was arrested and held in detention cells until sober.
RCMP Warrant Executed – Failure to Comply with Undertaking
On November 20th police attended to Westaway Bay for a disturbance. A highly intoxicated 34-year-old female was on location and found to have an outstanding RCMP Warrant. She was arrested and held in detention cells to prevent further issues. She will be released on an Appearance Notice with a court date and location to be determined.
Arrest Warrant – Theft Under $5000
On November 21st at 2:32AM police conducted a traffic stop and the operator was found to have an invalid driver’s license. Also charged for unlawful transportation of liquor in a motor vehicle.
The vehicle was a borrowed which resulted in the granddaughter of the vehicle owner attending to pick up the vehicle, however; the granddaughter was found to have an outstanding endorsed Warrant of Arrest for Theft Under $5000. She was released on an Appearance Notice with a court date of December 19th, 2024.
