Police Media Release - November 20, 2024

Assault Police Officer / Resist Arrest / Assault X2 / Failure to Comply with Probation

On November 19th at 8:06AM an employee from a business in the 900 bock of Victoria Avenue reported a female assaulted him, and then threw a bottle at him while destroying things outside the store before leaving. Police located the intoxicated 32-year-old female suspect and arrested her in the 400 block of 9th street. While police attempted to arrest her, she kicked the officer twice, while resisting arrest. The female was to abide by conditions not to attend the store. She was arrested and held in detention cells with court set for the afternoon.

 

IPDA

On November 19th at 3:53PM police received a report of a female wondering in traffic in the 600 block of Kirkaldy Drive. Members located the 28-year-old female who was too intoxicated to care for herself. She was arrested and held in detention cells until sober.

 

Breach of Peace

On November 19th at 1:15PM, it was reported an unknown male was behaving in a threatening manner at the corner of 9th Street and Victoria Avenue.  Suspect, 32-year-old male, was located and arrested and held in detention cells. He will be released once sober.

 

Failure to Comply Release Order

On November 20th at 12:41AM, a pedestrian stop in the 800 block of Rosser Avenue was conducted. Upon confirming identity, it was found that the pedestrian had an endorsed warrant held by the RCMP.  The 44-year-old male was arrested and held in detention cells until morning. He will be released on an Appearance Notice with a court date of December 19th, 2024.

 

Assault / Robbery with Weapon / Possession of a Weapon / Carry Concealed Weapon / Failure to Comply with Release Probation / Trespass by Night

On November 20th at 2:43AM a taxi driver reported one of his drivers was hit by a female suspect with an unknown item/weapon and is bleeding. Ambulance requested near the 3100 block of Victoria Avenue.

A female had gotten into the cab and demanded the driver’s cell phone, upon failing to give her the device she hit him over the head with a blunt object. Caller gave direction suspect went.

A secondary caller phoned in and stated an unknown female had rang their doorbell and was now in the residence asking them to call a cab for her. Upon finding out police were called female fled from the home and banged on a neighbor’s door on Hemlock Crescent. Suspect was located by police under a vehicle and taken into custody. A folding knife was on her person.

19-year-old female held in detention cells with a court date in the morning on November 20th, 2024.

Injured cab driver attended Brandon Hospital’s Emergency for non-life-threatening injuries.
