Armed Robbery / Attempted Robbery / Theft Under $5000 / Possession of a Weapon / Failure to Comply with Release Order X2
On November 11th at 4:12PM a business in the 700 block of 10th street reported a female with a knife who threatened staff, stole merchandise as well as the cash register. She fled out the rear door towards one of the buildings directly behind the business. The 20-year-old female was arrested with the cash register in her hands. The knife was seized. (Cash register contained $73.64 and stolen merchandise was worth $250.85). She had also unsuccessfully attempted to rob a victim at the store of his smart watch before fleeing. No victims sustained injuries.
The female was on conditions to abstain from drugs and alcohol, and not to possess knives or weapons.
The 20-year-old female was held in detention cells overnight and will attend court in the morning on November 12th, 2024.
Unlawful Confinement / Assault with a Weapon / Assault/ Failure to Comply with Release Order X2
On November 11th at 8:00PM police officers attended to a motel in the 1700 block of Middleton Avenue as they believed a suspect to be there. Upon attending, a 33-year-old male was arrested for an incident that occurred on the night of November 10th, 2024.
The male was held in detention cells overnight and will attend court in the morning on November 12th, 2024.
Arrest Warrant - Breach of Probation
On November 11th at 3:38AM a vehicle stop was conducted in the 1500 block of Stickney Avenue. A 22-year-old female passenger was known to have a Warrant for Arrest. She was arrested, printed and released on an Appearance Notice with a court date of December 9th, 2024.
Break and Enter
On November 11th at 2:36AM Paladine Security reported a front door alarm at a business in the 600 block of 10th Street. Video showed someone force the door open, enter, and grab a tray of Xbox games and flee. Suspect appears to be a Caucasian male, wearing pants that appear to have an American flag design, and possibly a navy-blue jacket. Anyone with information on this crime is asked to please contact the Brandon Police at 204-729-2345.
Residential Fire
On November 11th at 5:06PM police responded with Brandon Fire and Emergency Services to a report of a house fire in the basement of a house in the 800 block of 12th Street. The occupants were able to safely evacuate. It is believed that the fire started in the furnace and is currently deemed not suspicious.
