Police Media Release - May 24, 2025
Warrant Executed
- On Friday evening May 23rd, at approximately 7:50pm, Police attended to a business in the 100 block of 5th St. A 23yr old female was located and found to be the subject of an Unendorsed Warrant of Arrest. She was arrested and held for Court in the morning.
- At 9:43pm Police conducted a traffic stop with a suspected impaired in the 300 block of Rosser Ave East. The driver was not intoxicated, but a passenger in the vehicle was found to have an Endorsed Warrant of Arrest for failing to comply with Probation. The 31yr old male was released on Appearance Notice and will appear in court in June.
Male Identified in Theft - Charged
A business in the 1500 block of 18th St reported a theft of merchandise at around 7:10 PM on Friday evening. The total of the goods taken was approximately $90.00. The suspect was identified from video surveillance and located later in the evening. The 49yr old male was arrested and then released on an Undertaking to appear in Court in July.
Youth arrested for stealing from Vehicles
At 9:23pm, Police received a report of a male in the 700 block of 14th St, entering a vehicle and stealing items. The male was located in the area but ran from Police. After a foot pursuit he was captured and found to have in his possession a number of items that had been stolen. The 13yr old male youth, was also found to had 8 pending charges for failing to comply with the conditions of his Court Order. He was subsequently charged for Theft Under $5,000 and Resist/ Obstruct Police. He was lodged at the BPS cells to appear in Court in the morning.
Male Charged with Assault
At 10pm an employee at a business in the 900 block of 18th St. reported being assaulted by a customer at closing time. When the female employee was closing up there was a knock on the door and when she opened it, she was grabbed by the hair and the subject attempted to punch her in the face before leaving on foot. The male suspect, who was known to the victim, was located, arrested and held in the BPS cells, to be released on an Undertaking once sober.
Prohibited from Driving
At 3:00 am, please conduct a traffic stop in the 800 block of 2nd St. where the operator of the vehicle was found to be prohibited from driving. Police seized the vehicle and the 33yr old male was released on an Appearance Notice to appear in Court in August.
Breach of Peace
At 3:58am Police received a report of a fight at a residence on Cornell Bay. A 28yr old male was found to be intoxicated and causing problems. He was removed to prevent any further issues, lodged at BPS to be released when sober.
Assault
In the early morning hours of May 24th, at approximately 4am, Police responded to a disturbance at a residence in the 1300 block of 8th St. A 47-year-old male was found to have assaulted another person within the residence. He was arrested and lodged BPS to be released on an Undertaking when sober.
