Police Media Release - May 16, 2025

Possession of Property Obtained by Crime

On May 15th at 12:02PM Police were called regarding a male who had just stolen a child’s bike in the area of 1st Street and Pacific Avenue. Police located and arrested a 23-year-old male who was in possession of the bike at Dinsdale Park on 1st Street North. The bike was returned to the rightful owner. The male was released on Undertaking with a court date of July 10th, 2025.

 

Theft Under $5000

On May 14th at 4:29PM a male stole merchandise from a business located in the 900 block of Victoria Avenue. The male was identified by surveillance.

On May 15th at 5:51PM Police were called to the same business due to a passerby reporting a male causing issues and trying to fight near the store. Police located the described 43-year-old intoxicated male in the area. He was arrested for the prior Theft. He was held in detention cells to prevent further issues and will be released on Undertaking once sober. A court date of June 17th, 2025

 

Theft Under $5000 / Failure to Comply Probation

On May 15th a 40-year-old male was arrested on the strength of multiple Warrants for his Arrest. While in custody he was then arrested for a file from May 12th where he stole $681 worth of merchandise from a business in Corral Centre. He was on conditions not to attend the store. The male was held for court in the morning.

 

Failure to Comply Release Order

On May 15th at 9:59PM Police were called to a business in the 000 block of 10th Street. An intoxicated female was reportedly banging on doors, causing a scene, being rude to staff and refusing to leave. Upon attending the female was known to police and was not carrying a copy of her Release Order, which was one of her conditions. She was arrested and later released on an Appearance Notice with a court date of July 28th, 2025.

 

Breach of the Peace

On May 15th at 11:16PM a call was received reporting a disturbance between a male and female in the 400 block of 5th Street. There was no evidence or disclosure of assault, but a heated argument, screaming and elevated emotions were witnessed from the male. He was held at BPS detention cells to be released once calmed down.

 

Arrest Warrants

 In the last 24 hours there were seven people arrested on the strength of their Warrants for Arrest.
