Police Media Release - May 11, 2025

Breach of Undertaking:

Just before 9:00 AM Saturday morning, a 26 year-old male was observed in the intersection of 18th Street North & Kirkcaldy Drive.  It was determined that he is bound by an Undertaking that prohibits him from being within 200 feet of the intersection because of a mischief charge arising from a May 5th incident.  He was arrested for the breach, processed, and released from custody to appear in court on July 07th.

Arrest Warrants:

Three people were arrested over the previous 24 hours on the strength of a warrant for their arrest.

A 50 year-old female was arrested for failing to comply with a probation order, with the warrant being held by Winnipeg Police Service.  She was released from custody to appear in Winnipeg on July 8th.

A 25 year-old male was arrested during an investigation into an intimate partner violence complaint.  He was found to be the subject of an arrest warrant for failing to comply with an undertaking, failing to comply with a release order, and failing to attend court.  He also faces new charges of assault and two counts of failing to comply with a release order.  He was held in custody and will appear before the court today.

Winnipeg Police Service arrested a 20 year-old female on the strength of a BPS held warrant for failing to attend court.  She was held in custody at their point to appear before the court today.

Assault Peace Officer:

A 12 year-old female was charged after an incident outside of a Garwood Drive residence.  Officers were patrolling when they were waved down for a fight between two youths.  When Police were speaking with the accused, she suddenly punched the officer in the face; no injury occurred.  She was arrested for assault arising from the original fight, assault Peace Officer, and was also charged for consuming liquor as a minor.  She was taken to hospital because of her intoxication, and was later released from police custody.  She is to appear in court on July 15th.

 

Intoxicated & Causing Disturbances:

A total of seven individuals were arrested and held in custody over the previous 24 hours.  All of these individuals were medically cleared before being lodged in cells, and will be released once sober.
