Police Media Release - May 1, 2025

Arrest Warrant

On April 30th BPS (Brandon Police Service) members attended a residence in the 2700 block of Rosser Avenue. A 38-year-old male was located at home and arrested without incident on the strength of his Warrant for Arrest (Charges include Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose, Assault, Resist Peace Officer, Possess Property Obtained by Crime, and Failure to Attend Court X3). He was held in detention cells and will appear in court in the morning on May 1st, 2025.

 

Theft Under $5000

On April 30th at approximately 11:12AM Police were informed of a suspicious female in the 800 block of 7th Street. Upon attending police located a 34-year-old female who was known to be wanted for an unrelated shoplifting incident from a store in the 900 block of Victoria Avenue. The female was arrested without incident and later released on an Appearance Notice with a court date of July 7th, 2025.

 

Breach of Peace

On April 30th at 7:14PM Police attended a hotel in the 900 block of Middleton Avenue for a disturbance. A 41-year-old female was found to be the cause of issues. She was arrested, held in detention cells and will be released once sober.

 

Assault

On April 30th at 10:00PM Police located and arrested a 27-year-old female in the 1200 block of 1st Street North. The female had just punched an employee in the face several times at a business in the 1200 block of 1st North. They had been asked prior to leave the property and would not. She was held in detention cells, to be released in the morning on an Undertaking once sober. A court date of July 7th, 2025 has been set.

 

IRP (Immediate Roadside Prohibition)

On April 30th at 10:06PM a report of a vehicle sideswiping another vehicle came into BPS. A male was in his vehicle parked on the street in the 2500 block of McDonald Avenue when it was hit by a vehicle along the driver’s side. The license plate was captured and police attended. The 24-year-old female driver was the lone occupant of the vehicle and failed two ASD (Approved Screening Device) tests. Immediate Roadside Prohibition and her vehicle was towed.

 

Arrest Warrant

On May 1st at 1:17AM a person's check was conducted at a business in the 800 block of 1st Street. The 40-year-old male was found to have an Unendorsed Warrant for Arrest (Failure to Attend Court). He was arrested, held in detention cells at BPS, and will attend court in the morning.
