Police Media Release - March 8, 2025

Theft Under $5000

In the afternoon of March 7th, Police responded to a business in the 900 block of Victoria Avenue for a report of two people shoplifting.  Loss prevention staff directed police to the two alleged thieves who were promptly taken into custody.  Located were a 54y/o female and 58y/o male from Brandon.  A combined total of $700.00 worth of unpaid merchandise was recovered.  Upon arrest, the female provided a false name and the male was in possession of knife. 

Once correctly identified, the female was found to be the subject of a Manitoba warrant of arrest for a prior theft.  She was charged with public mischief for lying, theft under $5000.00 and on the strength of the warrant.  She was later released with a court date.

The male was found to be subject of a release order with conditions not to possess weapons and to have no contact with the female co-accused.  He was charged for theft under $5000.00, possession of a weapon and two counts of breaching his order.  He was held for court.

  

Arrest Warrants 

On March 7th, two men were arrested on unrelated warrants, one released for court, and one held in custody.

On two separate occurrences during the night, two adults were located causing disturbances.  Both were found to be the subject of the complaints, highly intoxicated and were taken into custody to be released when sober.
