Arrest Warrants
In the last 24 hours Brandon Police Service (BPS) executed six Arrest Warrants. Two were at the request of RCMP and executed by BPS at Brandon Correctional Centre. Three were released via Appearance Notice and one individual was held for court in the morning on March 5th, 2025.
Mischief Under $5000
On March 4th at approximately 2:52PM Police were called to a disturbance at a residence in the 1100 block of 7th Street. An individual was damaging walls and appliances within the residence. Police attended the residence and arrested the 17-year-old female. Notice to parents was completed and the female youth was turned over to an adult in care.
Possess Dangerous Weapon X2 / Carry Concealed Weapon
On March 4th at approximately 3:49PM Police were called to a business in the 1300 block of 18th Street North regarding a male who possibly had a gun in his possession and who was refusing to leave their washroom. Police attended and located the individual who was found to have a CO2 pistol and a knife. The 39-year-old male was arrested, held in detention cells at BPS, and will attend court in the morning on March 5th, 2025.
IPDA
On March 4th a highly intoxicated 30-year-old male was noted and arrested at the corner of 18th Street and Kirkaldy. He was held in detention cells to prevent further issues. He will be released once sober.
Assault Causing Bodily Harm / Possess Dangerous Weapon/ Failure to Comply Release Order (weapon)
On March 4th at 8:24PM Police were called to a situation in the zero hundred block of 9th Street where there was a report of an eye stabbing. Investigation revealed that a 46-year-old female was assaulted by two individuals – a 31-year-old male and a 31-year-old female. The victim was tended to by EMS and transported to Brandon hospital. The suspects were located by Police in the 900 block of Rosser Avenue. The two were arrested and held in detention cells at BPS. Upon arrest, the female was found to have a large kitchen knife concealed in the front of her sweater pocket. Both individuals will attend court in the morning on March 5th, 2025.
Public Mischief / Failure to Comply Release Orders
On March 5th at 12:16AM a traffic stop was initiated in the 1000 block of Park Avenue. A 45-year-old female was the operator of the vehicle. Alcohol was noted in the vehicle. The female is the subject of two Release Orders with conditions not to possess alcohol as well as a curfew of which she was breaching.
A 47-year-old male was an occupant of the vehicle and initially provided a false name. Actual identity revealed a Release Order with a curfew of which he was breaching for Long Plain First Nation.
Both individuals were arrested, held in BPS detention cells and will attend court in the morning on March 5th, 2025.
Failure to Comply Release Order
On March 5th at 1:20AM an officer-initiated walkthrough of a business in the 100 block of 5th Street resulted in finding a patron who was breaching Release Order curfew conditions. The 24-year-old male was arrested, held in detention cells at BPS, and will attend court in the morning on March 5th, 2025.
Assault / Assault by Choking
On March 5th at 2:30AM Police attended a residence in the 200 block of 15th Street where a highly intoxicated ex-girlfriend (26) was refusing to leave a male’s residence. Upon police arrival it was noted that the male (31) had dried blood on his nose. It was disclosed that the female had elbowed him in the nose and tried to choke him. The female was arrested and held in detention cells. She will be released via Undertaking once sober with a court date of April 17th, 2025.
