Theft of meat leads to charge
On Friday March 28th, at approximately 1:40pm, Police were called to a business in the nine hundred block of 9th St for a reported theft. It was determined that a 34-year-old male was responsible for stealing approximately $100 worth of meat. He was located, arrested and will appear in Court in June.
Arrested Again...
Not long after being released for the theft, the same male suspect was reported to have threatened staff at a business in the 3400 block of Victoria Ave and then fought with Police when the arrest was being made. The 34-year-old now faces charges of Uttering Threats and Assault PO. He was placed in cells at BPS to appear in Court in the morning.
Assault
On Friday evening at 7:31pm, Police were called to a residence on Willowdale Cres for a disturbance. An 18-year-old male was arrested for assault as it was disclosed that he had punched the other person in the residence in the face. He was lodged in cells to be released on an Undertaking to appear in Court in June.
VLT Voucher Fraud
At 9:12pm a report was received of some people using fraudulent VLT vouchers at a business in the 200 block of 18th St N. A 45yr old female was found to have fraudulently cashed a $100 VLT voucher. She was located, then released with a Court date in June after being charged with Fraud Under $5,000.
Weapons & Drug Charge
Police received information of an unwanted male at a residence in the 200 block of 9th St. The 49yr old male was found to be on a Court Order not to be at that residence. Search incident to his arrest, Police located on his person a small quantity of Methamphetamine and hatchet in his bag. He was charged for Failing to comply with his Probation Order, Possess Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose and Possess Meth. He was lodged in cells to appear in Court in the morning.
Two Youth charged for Property Damage, Resist Arrest
Just after midnight while responding to a mischief to property call, 2 youths were spotted around the 200 block of 16th St. They fled from Police but were eventually apprehended. They were found to be responsible for damaging some fences, as well a spray painting some windows and fences in the area. One of the males was also found to have a knife in his possession. The 2 youths, aged 16 and 12 respectively, were released on Undertakings after being charged with Mischief to Property x4, Trespass by Night, and Resist. The 12yr old was additionally charged for Possessing a Weapon. They will both appear in Court in June.
Traffic stop leads to Drug Charges
At 2:11am on Saturday morning, Police conducted a traffic stop in the 1700 block of Park Ave. during which the operator of the vehicle provided Police with a false name. His true identity was eventually discovered, and it was learned that he was on a Court Order not to be in the driver’s seat of a vehicle. He was arrested and found to have in his possession approximately 5oz of meth, $400 cash and a knife under his seat. He was subsequently charged with Fail to Comply with Release Order x2, Public Mischief, Possess Meth for the purpose of Trafficking, possess proceeds of Crime and Possess a weapon dangerous. The 47yr old was lodged at BPS to appear in Court in the morning.
