Police News Release - March 28th, 2026

For The Past 24 Hours:

Break & Enters:

A business in the 900 block 26th Street was broken into sometime overnight Thursday night into Friday morning, and five CPR mannequins were stolen. The matter is still under investigation.

A residence in the 300 block 11th Street was broken into overnight Thursday / Friday as well, during which mukluks and crystals were stolen. The matter is still under investigation.

A business in the 2400 Park Avenue was broken into overnight Thursday / Friday and numerous business related items were stolen. The matter is still under investigation.

 

Arrest Warrants Executed:

On Friday afternoon, a 24 year-old female was located at her Queens Avenue residence and taken into custody on the strength of a Warrant for Arrest for failing to comply with probation order. She was held in custody and will appear before the Court today.

A 49 year-old male, from St Rose du Lac, was located at a Glendale Avenue residence on Friday afternoon and arrested for two counts of theft under $5000, which relate to two separate incidents that occurred at Princess Auto in Brandon. The accused was also found to be the subject of three warrants for arrest for theft under $5000, held by St. Rose detachment RCMP. The accused was processed and released on appropriate police imposed conditions. He is scheduled to appear in Court on June 8th .

Just after 9:00 PM Friday evening, a 25 year-old male was arrested at a residence in the 600 block 11th Street when Police were called for a disturbance. A records query returned that the male was arrestable on the strength of a warrant for arrest for failing to comply with probation order.  As he was intoxicated at the time, he was held in custody, to be released once sober, and is scheduled to appear in Brandon provincial court on April 23rd.

A 15 year-old male was arrested just after 4:00 AM Saturday morning when he was reported to be intoxicated and fighting with a sibling in the lobby of the Victoria Inn. It was found that he was wanted on a warrant for arrest for weapons and property offences and was brought into custody. He is to be released later today, and is scheduled to appear in Brandon provincial court on June 2nd.

Also just after 4:00 AM Saturday morning, a 41 yar-old female was arrested in the 700 block Princess Avenue during a disturbance call during which a records query returned that she was the subject of a warrant for arrest for assault. She was intoxicated, was brought into custody, to be released later today, and is scheduled to appear in Brandon provincial court on April 13th.

 

Assault With Weapon:

At around 5:30 PM Friday, Police were made aware of an incident at a hotel in the 0-00 block 10th Street in which a female victim suffered stab wounds to her upper body. She was  transported to hospital by ambulance with non-life threatening injuries. This matter remains under investigation.

 

MVA With Injuries:

Just after 5:00 PM Friday afternoon, Police attended to the intersection of a two vehicle collision at the intersection of PTH#100 and Richmond Avenue East. A female driver involved was transported to hospital for assessment and treatment of injuries resulting from the collision.  The male driver of the other vehicle involved was issued a ticket under the Highway Traffic Act for disobeying a traffic control device.

 

Assaults:

At about 11:17 PM Police were called to a Goldfinch Crescent address for a report of an assault. A 72 year-old male was arrested for assault, and was later released on appropriate police imposed conditions. He is scheduled to appear in Court on June 4th.  The female victim of the assault did not require medical attention.

A 27 year-old male was arrested at his residence in the 3700 block Victoria Avenue after police attended for a report of an assault. The female victim did not require medical attention and the accused was held in custody to appear before the Court later today.

 

Others:

Three people were brought into custody from separate incidents due to them being intoxicated from alcohol or drug, and causing a disturbance. They will be held until sober and released without charges.
