Arrest Warrants
On March 24th at 08:30 am Police attended to the Brandon Correctional Center and arrested a 32-year-old male who had an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court. He will be held in custody and appear in court on March 25th, 2025.
On March 24th at 09:01am Police attended to the Brandon Correctional Center and arrested a 32-year-old female who had an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court. She will be held in custody and appear in court on March 25th, 2025.
On March 24th at 1:35 pm A female turned herself into Brandon Police Service as she was aware she had an outstanding warrant for failing to provide her fingerprints. The 37-year-old female was arrested, fingerprinted, and released for court on April 24th, 2025.
On March 24th at 5:33 pm Police conducted a pedestrian check in the 1200 block of 10th street. A 26-year-old female was arrested as she had an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court. She was arrested and released for court on April 24th, 2025.
Aggravated assault/Assault with a weapon
On March 24th at 08:26 am Police received a call reporting a serious assault that had just occurred at the Brandon Correctional Center. A 27-year-old male had attacked his 35-year-old cell mate with a coffee cup. The accused struck the victim numerous times in the head and face. The victim was transported to hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries. The incident was captured on video surveillance and the 27-year-old male was arrested. He will appear in court on March 25th, 2025.
Breach of Release Order
On March 24th at 3:35 pm a business in the 1400 block of 18th street north reported a female had entered the store and was acting erratically. A 33-year-old female was arrested as she was intoxicated by drugs and breaching her release order. The accused was held in Brandon Police Detention cells to appear in court on March 25th, 2025.
Robbery with violence
On March 24th at 8:10 pm a 26-year-old female came to Brandon Police Service to report that she was just assaulted. The victim disclosed she was standing in the 400 block of 10th street when a female approached her demanding she turn over her bag and the shirt she was wearing. When she refused, she was punched several times in the face. The victim was able to get away and run to Brandon Police Service. A 38-year-old female matching the suspect’s description was located in the area and arrested for robbery with violence. She was later released for court on May 29th, 2025.
Breach of Court Order
On March 25th at 03:01am Police conducted a traffic stop on Highway one between 1st street north and 18th street north. The 37-year-old male driver was arrested, as he was found to be a suspended driver and in breach of his conditional sentence order. The accused was lodged at Brandon Police Detention cells and will appear in court on March 25th, 2025.
Intoxicated Person
On March 25th at 04:23 am Police received a call of a disturbance at a residence in the 500 block of 23rd street for an intoxicated female causing issues. A 16-year-old female was arrested and held at the Brandon Police Detention cells and will be released in the morning once sober.
Homicide
On December 29th, 2024, at 5:30 pm Police received call from Brandon Correctional Center reporting that an inmate had seriously assaulted another inmate. The 23-year-old male victim had been transported to hospital but succumbed to his injuries. The investigation revealed the victim was repeatedly punched and kicked by his cell mate. The file was sent to the crown attorney for review and a charge of first-degree murder was recently authorized. A 27-year-old male was arrested at Stony Mountain Institute and will appear in court on March 25th, 2025.
