Police Media Release - January 5, 2025

Highlights for the Past 24 Hours:

Assault with a Weapon/ Break and Enter

At 4:58 am, a call was received from a victim in the 700 block of Princess Ave stating male had entered the building and took a fire extinguisher and sprayed multiple people with it and then took off with the extinguisher. At 5:10 am, an alarm was reported at a business in the 700 block of Rosser Ave and Police found someone had broken into the building. At that time police were unable to locate the suspect. A further call was received to the same building at 9:10 am, and Police were able to locate the suspect hiding inside the building. The 21 year old male suspect was arrested for assault with a weapon, administer noxious thing, mischief under $5,000, break and enter, theft under $5,000, and fail to comply with undertaking. He was held in custody to appear in court.

Stolen Auto Recovered

The Red Honda Accord reported stolen was recovered in the 1400 block of 22nd St. Police seized the vehicle and will be processing it for evidence relating to the theft.

Theft Under $5,000

At 4:12 am, Police were called to a disturbance in the 500 block of 7th St. A 46 year old male was located in the area who was the one causing the problems. He was arrested due to his high level of intoxication and was lodged it. It was learned he was also the subject of a previous occurrence and was arrested for theft under $5,000 and later released on an undertaking for that incident.
