Police Media Release - January 29, 2025

Assault / Mischief to Property Under $5000

On January 28th at 11:42AM police received a call and attended a residence in the 500 block of Louise Avenue. A 24-year-old male had gotten physical and smashed a TV. The male was located nearby and charged with an assault on his girlfriend which occurred on January 26th as well as Mischief Under $5000. He was released on an Undertaking with a court date of April 10th, 2025.

 

Theft Under $5000

On January 23rd a report of a theft just under $50.00 in cosmetics had come in from a store in the 900 block of Victoria Avenue. On January 28th the 26-year-old female suspect, identified by video surveillance, was in custody at Brandon Correctional Centre. She was arrested and held in detention cells for court in the morning on January 29th, 2025.

 

Possession of Property Obtained by Crime / Possess Stolen Credit Card / Fraudulent Use of Credit Card

On January 28th at 4:33PM Police received a report of a wallet that had been stolen from a work van while parked outside an address in the 400 block of 13th Street. Wallet was tracked by an airtag to the 600 block of 15th Street. Previous notification had come in of a failed attempt to use a credit card. Surveillance from a business shows a 44-year-old male attempting to use the rightful owner’s card for purchase at a store. Police located the male, who was still in possession of the Apple Air Tag, Firearms license, MB Driver’s license and Boater’s license all belonging to the wallet’s owner. He was arrested and held in detention cells for court in the morning on January 29th, 2025.

 

Arrest Warrant

On January 28th at 6:40PM a 16-year-old female turned herself in on an endorsed Warrant for Arrest. The female was released via undertaking with a court date of March 3rd, 2025.

 

Arrest Warrant

On January 28th while on an unrelated call, Police identified a 30-year-old male who was wanted on several Warrants – Failure to Attend Court and Failure to Comply Probation X2. The male was arrested and held in detention cells for court in the morning on January 29th, 2025.

 

Arrest Warrant / Possess Weapon

On January 28th at 11:37AM a person’s check was conducted in the 3400 block of Victoria Avenue. A search came back with a Warrant for Arrest from Oxford House RCMP. Upon arrest for the Warrant, the 21-year-old male was found to have a hatchet concealed in his jacket. He was later released via Appearance Notice with a court date in Oxford House of March 20th, 2025, and a court date in Brandon of April 14th, 2025.

 

Failure to Comply Release Order / Possess Weapon / Possess Cocaine

On January 29th at 2:35AM a 32-year-old male was observed at a business on Willowdale Crecent. The male was known to be breaching Release Order curfew. Subsequent investigation determined two other breaches (drugs & cell phone), possession of cocaine and possession of a knife. The male was arrested and held in detention cells for court in the morning on January 29th, 2025.
