Police Media Release - January 17, 2025

Warrant Executed

On January 16th Brandon Police Service (BPS) attended Brandon Correctional Centre (BCC) and executed a Warrant for a 35-year-old female who is currently in custody there. She will attend court in the morning.

 

IPDA (Intoxicated Persons Detention Act)

On January 16th at 3:25PM an intoxicated 23-year-old female was located in the 1000 block of Rosser Avenue and advised to go home. After being sent on her way, she was observed trying to get into some parked vehicles. With no one to turn her over to she was arrested and held in detention cells. She will be released once sober.  

 

Failure to Comply Undertaking

On January 16th a curfew check was conducted on a 14-year-old male – he was not home. At 11:27PM he was located in the 1500 block of 3rd Street and arrested. He was held in detention cells and will attend court in the morning on Friday, January 17th, 2025.

 

RCMP Arrest Warrant

On January 16th at 10:08PM BPS members attended to the 100 block of 13th Street where they located and arrested a 17-year-old female on an outstanding RCMP Warrant of Arrest. (Charges pending: Failure to Attend Court X3, Assault & Robbery.) She was held in detention cells and will attend court in the morning on Friday, January 17th, 2025.

 

Breach of Probation

On January 17th at 1:05AM members attended to the 300 block of Dennis Street as a teen resident in a group home had snuck a boy into the all-female group home. Police located and arrested a 14-year-old male youth who was to abide by a daily curfew. He was held in detention cells and will attend court in the morning on Friday, January 17th, 2025.

 

Arrest Warrant

On January 16th at 6:57PM a 19-year-old male turned himself in to BPS on an outstanding Warrant of Arrest for Failure to Attend Court. He was released via Appearance Notice with a court date of February 20th, 2025.

 

Breach of the Peace

On January 17th several calls came in of a female attending businesses, behaving strangely and then refusing to leave. Police attended and located an 18-year-old female at a business in the 700 block of Victoria Avenue East. She was arrested and held in detention cells to prevent further issues. She will be released once sober.
