For the Past 24 Hours:
Arrest Warrants:
A 20 year-old female was located at her 100 block 2nd Street residence early Tuesday afternoon and arrested on the strength of an endorsed warrant for arrest for failing to attend court. She was released from custody and is to appear in court on January 27th to answer to the new charge, as well as the original charges.
Late on Tuesday afternoon, a 49 year-old female was arrested on the strength of two endorsed warrants for arrest for failing to attend for identification and failing to attend court. She, too, was released from custody and is to appear in court on January 30th.
Just before 4:00 AM this morning, a 19 year-old female was arrested at a Westaway Bay residence on the strength of a warrant for arrest for failing to attend court. She was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on February 25th.
Russell RCMP arrested a 56 year-old male on the strength of a BPS-held warrant for arrest for failing to attend court. He was released at their point with a Brandon court date of February 27th
Robbery & Theft of Motor Vehicle:
In the very early morning hours of December 28th a male flagged down a Police Cruiser in the Cornell Bay area to report that he had had his vehicle stolen by three males. The males had assaulted him before confining him in a nearby residence and stealing his vehicle. During the course of the ensuing investigation, two of the suspects were identified. On Saturday afternoon, one of the suspects was seen on foot in the area of the 400 block Maryland Avenue and was arrested for offences arising from this incident. He was held in custody and appeared before the court earlier today.
Others:
A number of other individuals were brought into custody for incidents related to intoxication by alcohol, drug, or both. They were held in custody until such time they were sober and able to care for themselves and or not be a danger to themselves or others.
