Police Media Release - February 22, 2025
Highlights for the Past 24 Hours:
Resist Arrest/Impaired Driving
At 12:21 pm, a call was received stating that a male had broken into a residence in the 800 block of 7th St, stole a phone and left the house and was impaired while driving. The suspect was believed to be heading to a residence on Westaway Bay. Police located the 24 year old male in the driver’s seat of the vehicle and when attempting to arrest him, he fled on foot into a residence. He was apprehended moments later and was also arrested for impaired driving. The suspect was brought back to BPS where he provided breath samples of three times the legal limit. He was charged with break and enter and commit theft, assault, impaired driving, driving over .08, resisting arrest, and obstruction. The accused was held in custody for court in the morning.
Fail to Comply with Undertaking
At 9:18 pm, Police received a call from a residence on Aster Cres with no information provided. Upon Police arrival, they found a 26 year old male at the residence who was on conditions not to have contact with the female at the residence. The accused was arrested and later released on an appearance notice.
Trespass by Night
At 1:40 am, a call was received of a break and enter in progress to a residence in the 1500 block of College Ave. When Police arrived on scene they located a 19 year old highly intoxicated male who indicated he believed he was at someone else’s residence. The accused broke the railing on the front step and was also breaching his curfew condition of his Undertaking. He was arrested and charged with failing to comply with his Undertaking, Mischief, and Trespass by Night. He was held until sober and then released on an undertaking to appear in court at a later date.
Warrants for Arrest
Six other individuals were arrested for warrants for their arrest from various other incidents over the course of the 24 hours.
