Police Media Release - December 4, 2024

Arrest Warrant
On December 3rd at 11:54AM a Brandon Police Service (BPS) member attended Brandon Correctional Centre (BCC) and arrested a 33-year-old male on his outstanding warrant. He was then held in BPS detention cells and will appear in court in the morning on December 4th, 2024.
Impaired Driving - Operation Exceeding 80 mgs%
On December 3rd at 7:28AM police received a call of a vehicle that had backed into the complainant’s garage on Allison Way. The driver was sleeping, and they couldn’t wake her. Police attended to find an intoxicated 36-year-old woman who was woken and arrested for impaired driving.
Possess Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose / Possession of Prohibited Weapon
On December 3rd at 11:43AM while patrolling in the 100 block of 5th St, a vehicle with unregistered plates was spotted by a BPS member. A traffic stop was conducted in the 500 block of Princess Ave and the driver wasn’t able to produce identification. A throwing style knife was seen on the floor and through further search of the vehicle a pair of nun chucks were located as well. The 25-year-old male is from Ontario. He was held in detention cells with court in the morning on December 4th, 2025.
IPDA
On December 3rd at 3:22PM staff from a business in the 1200 block of Princess Avenue reported a highly intoxicated female who they couldn’t understand due to her level of intoxication. The 18-year-old female was medically cleared and held in detention cells. She will be released once sober.
Assault
On December 3rd at 11:46AM BPS received a call regarding an assault. A 22-year-old male had slapped, pushed then slammed his 22-year-old girlfriend’s head into a door. He left on foot but was located and arrested by police. He was released on an Undertaking with a court date of February 17th, 2024.
Breach of Peace
On December 3rd at 7:41PM Brandon Police were called to a residence in the 1200 block of 10th Street where a 31-year-old female was arrested for causing a disturbance. She was held in detention cells, but upon being compliant she was later released after she had calmed down.
IPDA
On December 3rd at 8:22PM a 20-year-old male stole a bottle of liquor from a business in the 800 bock of Pacific Avenue. He was intoxicated when located and arrested by police. The liquor was recovered and returned. The business did not wish to press charges. The male was held in detention cells and will be released once sober.
Assault
On December 3rd at 9:20PM a 40-year-old female reported her 48-year-old boyfriend had punched in her the face. Police arrested the male and he was detained at BPS, later being released via an Undertaking. A court date of January 27th, 2025, has been set.
Failure to Comply with Probation Order
On December 3rd at 11:47PM it was found that a 13-year-old male was breaching his curfew. Police located the youth and arrested him. He was lodged at BPS and will attend court in the morning on December 4th, 2024.
Drive While Suspended / Failure to Comply with Undertaking / Resist Arrest
On December 4th at 1:15AM police conducted a traffic stop in the 200 block of 15th Street with a Manitoba plated truck. A 35-year-old male driver tried fleeing on foot. He was apprehended a short distance away and was combative and resistant. The male was found to be a suspended driver and bound by an Undertaking with a No Contact Condition of the passenger in the vehicle. Both the driver and passenger were arrested, held in BPS detention cells and will attend court in the morning on December 4th, 2024.
