Police Media Release - December 31, 2024

Arrest Warrant – Fail to Attend Court

On December 30th 2024 at approximately 1:30 PM, a 13 year old male attended the Brandon Police Service as he believed there was a warrant for his arrest. Police confirmed the youth did have an outstanding warrant of arrest; he was arrested and released to appear for Court in January 2025.

 

Theft Under $5000

On December 30th 2024 at approximately 1:38 PM, Police received a complaint from a patron at a business located in the 1500 block of 18th street stating their wallet had been taken after momentarily placing it down. Police reviewed the surveillance footage, identified and arrested the suspect without incident. The 27 year old male was released via Undertaking to appear for Court in March 2025.

 

Fail To Comply with Undertaking/Fail to Comply with Probation x 2

On December 30th 2024 at approximately 11:35 PM, Police attended to an address located in the 300 block of 13th street. During the course of investigation, a male was discovered hiding in a closet who was on conditions to not have contact with the resident, as well as conditions to not attend the residence. The 23 year old male was arrested and held in detention cells to appear for Court in the morning of December 31st.

 

Arrest Warrant – Theft Under $5000/Fail to Attend Court

On December 31st 2024 at approximately 1:26 AM, Police conducted a traffic stop in the 900 block of Pacific Avenue and discovered an occupant of the vehicle had an outstanding warrant of arrest. The 33 year old female was arrested and released to appear for Court in January 2025.

 

Intoxicated Persons Detention Act

On December 31st 2024 at approximately 2:16 AM, Police attended an address in the 1400 block of 22nd street as caller reported a youth had taken illicit drugs and was becoming violent. Police attended and arrested the 15 year old youth where he was lodged in detention cells for his safety and to be released when sober.
