Police Media Release - December 25, 2024

Intimate partner violence 

At 9:23AM on December 24th, Police attended a West end residence for a complaint of domestic violence.  Allegedly, a 41y/o male assaulted his partner by kicking and punching then by forcing her to the ground and attempting to choke her. Injuries did not require medical treatment.  The male was located at the residence by police, he was arrested and later released with a court date.

At 12:47PM on December 24th, Police attended a West end residence for a complaint of domestic violence.  Allegedly, a 29y/o male assaulted his partner by kicking and punching her over a period of one hour. Her injuries did not require medical treatment.  The male was located at the residence by police.  Police learned that the male was the subject of a warrant to failing to comply with an undertaking originating from a charge for violence against the same complainant. The male was arrested and held for court.

 

Unwanted guests 

On the morning of December 25th, a Brandon man reported that he was visited by three unwanted guests overnight. Police attended and the intruders could not be located.  In a statement, the man told police “it was a Dickens of a night”.  He claimed that he recognized the first two, and he was threatened by the third. Once the last visitor left, the man felt the need to be a better person in the New Year.  No further complaint…
