Police Media Release - December 22, 2024
Theft Under $5000
On December 21, 2024, shortly after 12:00 pm, police responded to a report of a shoplifter at a business in the 1500 block of 18th street. The 29-year-old male suspect was located and arrested in a nearby laneway. He was still in possession of merchandise totaling approximately $220. He will appear in court on February 27, 2025.
Mischief Under $5000
On December 19, 2024, police responded to a residence at the request of a parent as there was a disturbance between her adult children. Her 34-year-old son damaged property by punching it and threatened to beat up his brother. He could not be located at the time, but he returned and continued to cause more issues on December 21. He was arrested and lodged to appear in court today on charges of Mischief Under $5000 and Uttering Threats.
Assault with a Weapon
On December 21, 2024, at approximately 4:30 pm, police responded to a residence following a report of a possible stabbing. When members arrived, an adult male victim had a large cut to his arm which required medical care, he was transported to the hospital via ambulance. The 19-year-old male suspect fled but was located and arrested nearby. He was lodged until sober, and will appear in court on February 20, 2025 on charges of Assault with a Weapon and Breach of Probation X2.
Assault with a Weapon
On December 21, 2024, at approximately 1:00 pm, police responded to a report of a disturbance at a residence. The 20-year-old male suspect assaulted his girlfriend and threatened another individual with a knife before fleeing. He was arrested when he returned to the residence shortly after 6:00 pm. He was lodged to appear in court today on charges of Assault, Assault with a Weapon and Fail to Comply with Release Order X2.
Breach of the Peace
On December 21, 2024, at approximately 9:30 pm, police responded to a disturbance at the hospital, as an intoxicated male was causing issues for security on site. He was arrested and lodged until sober to prevent his behavior from continuing.
IPDA
On December 22, 2024, shortly after 1:00 am, police responded to a report of an intoxicated male at a business in the 900 block of Rosser Ave refusing to leave. The 35-year-old male had nowhere to go. He was lodged until sober.
Arrest Warrants
Seven adults were arrested in the last 24-hours on outstanding warrants during separate incidents. They were all released to appear in court.
