Police Media Release - December 13, 2024

Assault / Failure to Comply Probation X4 / Failure to Comply Release Order X3

On December 12th at 10:11AM police located and arrested a 45-year-old male in a hotel in the 1800 block of 18th Street North. The male was brought to detention cells and attended court December 12, 2024.

 

Arrest Warrant – Virden RCMP

Brandon Police attended Brandon Correctional Centre (BCC) on the request of the Virden RCMP to execute a warrant on an inmate. A 24-year-old female was arrested and brought to Brandon Police Service (BPS) detention cells for court in the morning on December 13th, 2024.

 

Parole Supervision Suspension Warrant

On December 12th a request from Brandon Parole came in to assist with arresting a 22-year-old male at a residence in the 300 block of 1st Street. Police attended, the warrant was executed, and the male was taken to BCC.

 

Failure to Comply Probation

On December 12th at 1:28PM police conducted a walkthrough of a business in the 800 block of Pacific Avenue. A 23-year-old female was observed and arrested. She was later released on an Appearance Notice with a court date of February 20th, 2025.

 

Breach of the Peace

On December 12th at 3:46PM police were notified of 911 hangup calls coming from the 1700 block of Middleton Avenue. Police attended and an intoxicated 49-year-old female was arrested and brought to BPS detention cells. She will be released once sober.

 

Assault Peace Officer Causing Bodily Harm

On December 12th at approximately 4:20PM a 32-year-old female inmate at BCC bit a BCC employee’s finger, breaking the skin. Police attended and arrested the female. She is being held at BCC for a court appearance of December 13th, 2024.

 

Assault / Forcible Confinement

On December 11th at 6:56PM police were notified of a 29-year-old male who punched his 18-year-old girlfriend and refused to let her leave the house during the day, while holding a machete. Female left while he was showering and was able to stay at a safe location. The male was sober, and police ensured the children were safe. Police attended the residence, seized weapons within the home and arrested the male. Family attended to pick up the children. The male is held in detention cells at BPS and will attend court on December 13th, 2024.
