Police Media Release - December 11, 2024

Aggravated Assault

On December 10th at 6:21AM a caller from the 200 block of 1st Street reported two males fighting in an apartment. Police attended and found that one male, aged 24, had assaulted a 62-year-old male. The 24-year-old male was arrested and held in detention cells at Brandon Police Service (BPS). He was later released via an Undertaking with a court date of February 3rd, 2025.

 

Assault

On December 10th at 2:18PM an assault occurred in the 1900 block of 18th Street when a 40-year-old male punched his 38-year-old girlfriend multiple times in the face while in a vehicle. The male then took off on foot and was found by police a short while later at a residence in Cornell Bay. He was arrested without incident and later released on an Undertaking with a court date of February 6th, 2025.

 

Possession of a Weapon / Assault / Causing a Disturbance 

On December 10th at 10:04PM a Loss Prevention Officer (LPO), from a business in the 900 block of Victoria, reported a female was told to leave the business and responded by throwing a container of windshield washer fluid at the employee. While the LPO was on the phone, she assaulted him and an uninvolved/unidentified customer. She left heading towards Victoria Avenue waving a knife around. Police located and apprehended the 26-year-old within a block of the store. She was arrested, held in detention cells, and will be released once sober in the morning on an Undertaking. A court date of February 20th, 2025, has been set.

 

Breach of the Peace

On December 10th police had multiple dealings with a 50-year-old intoxicated male causing problems. Initially the issues arose at his son’s residence in Alpine Bay and lastly at a business in the 100 block of 5th Street. He was arrested, held in detention cells, and will be released once sober in the morning.
