Police Media Release - August 6, 2025
Drug Bust
On August 5th at 6:45PM as a result of a CDSA (Controlled Drug and Substance Act) investigation members of the Organized Crime Section, with the assistance of Patrol members, executed a CDSA search warrant at an apartment in the 1200 block of 20th Street. A 24-year-old female was located inside and taken into custody without incident. A search of the residence resulted in police locating 37 grams of Fentanyl (With a street value of approximately $15,000), 5 grams of methamphetamine (with a street value of $300), a cell phone, digital scale, score sheets, numerous types of packaging materials and various weapons. The female was arrested and later released with a court date of October 10th, 2024. The female faces 5 charges in relation to the possession of drugs and weapons.
Breach of Peace
On August 5th at 9:07PM police were called to a hotel in the 3100 block of Victoria Avenue to assist with an aggressive and intoxicated male. Police located and arrested the 35-year-old male. He was lodged and will be released once sober.
Breach of Release Order
On August 5th at 9:50PM police were called to a disturbance in the 2500 block of McDonald Avenue. A 34-year-old male was on scene who was found to be bound by a Release Order with conditions not to attend said residence. He was arrested without incident and lodged for court in the morning.
Break & Enter to Commit Theft
On August 6th at 2:39AM alarms of glass break and entrance was received for a business in the 3400 block of Victoria. Members attended and four youth, who attempted to run, were arrested. They had stolen alcohol in their possession. Video footage revealed the stolen items matched what they had in their possession. All four youth were arrested and lodged to prevent further incidents. Three with charges of Break and Enter to Commit Theft as well as Minor Consumption have court on September 24th, 2024. One youth who has Break & Enter to Commit Theft charge has court on September 26th, 2024.
Arrest Warrant
On August 5th at 8:12AM police attended a hotel in the 3100 block of Victoria Avenue for a disturbance. A 33-year-old female was found to have a Winnipeg Police Service warrant for Possession of a Controlled Substance and was arrested. She was later released with a court date in Winnipeg on October 8th, 2024.
Failure to Comply with Probation X2, Break and Enter and Assault
On August 5th at 10:37AM police were dispatched to a disturbance in the 3700 block of Centennial Blvd. The accused, 21-year-old female, is on conditions not to have communication with nor be within 100 meters of the male on scene. She was arrested and lodged for court in the morning. Charges pending are Failure to Comply with Probation X2, Break and Enter and Assault.
Arrest for Theft of a Motor Vehicle
The accused of a vehicle theft reported on July 12th was arrested. Court date set for September 16th, 2024.
Breach of Probation / Possession of a Dangerous Weapon
On August 5th at 2:55PM a vehicle stop was conducted in the 400 block of Rosser Avenue. The driver had failed to yield and was initially detained for impaired driving. A body search found the 38-year-old male to be in possession of a machete which was tucked in his waste band. Court date set for October 7th, 2024.
Breach of Conditional Sentence Order X2
On August 5th at 5:33PM a pedestrian check was conducted in the 700 block of Princess Avenue. A 43-year-old male was found to have an unendorsed warrant for his arrest. He was arrested and lodged for court in the morning.
