Police Media Release - August 31, 2024

For the past 24 hours:

Arrest Warrants

On August 30th police located and arrested several individuals throughout the day who were wanted on outstanding charges:

A 34 year old male was arrested and released for theft under $5000 and breach of probation.

A 45 year old female was arrested and released for theft under $5000.

A 35 year old male was arrested and lodged for failing to comply with a court order.

Breach of the Peace

8 people were lodged for breach of the peace or under the Intoxicated Person’s Detention Act (IPDA) as a result of causing disturbances and high levels of intoxication at multiple locations throughout Brandon.

Breach of Court Order

On August 30th at 10:12 AM an 18 year old female was arrested for breaching the curfew condition of her release order. She was lodged for court later that day.

Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and breach of release order x2

At 5:00 PM on August 30th a 31 year old male was arrested after being observed pointing a firearm out the window of a vehicle. Investigation revealed that the firearm was a BB gun and that accused was highly intoxicated. He was arrested for breaching his release order and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose then lodged for court in the morning.

Impaired Driving

At 4:32 am on August 31st a 36 year old male was arrested for impaired driving and driving with no license. He subsequently provided samples of 210 mg% and 200 mg% which is more than double the legal limit. He was later released on an appearance notice.
