Police Media Release - August 28, 2024

Warrants Executed

On August 27th police conducted a persons check in the 900 block of Rosser Avenue when they came across a 23-year-old female they knew had an outstanding warrant. She was arrested and held for court in the morning on August 28th, 2024.

On August 27th police were dispatched to 200 block of 8th street where people were said to be causing a disturbance. Upon arrival police found a 21-year-old female to be the cause of the issue. She was found to have an outstanding warrant from Winnipeg Police Service. She was arrested and later released for court in Winnipeg on October 29th, 2024.

 

Failure to Comply – Probation

On August 27th police conducted a persons check in the 100 block of 6th Street. 38-year-old female found to have an outstanding unendorsed warrant of arrest. The female was arrested and lodged for court in the morning on August 28th, 2024.

 

Attempted Robbery

On August 27th at 2:10PM an employee from a business in the 2500 block of Brandon Avenue reports that a male with a knife and a mask covering his face entered the store. Upon seeing all the people in the store, he took off. Perimeter set and K9 track was initiated but there was too much foot traffic in the area. Police continue to investigate. IPDA

On August 27th security from the Clarion called to report an intoxicated female causing a disturbance. She was arrested and lodged – will be released once sober. Charged with Minor Consumption.

On August 27th police received a call to Willow Place of an intoxicated male laying on a front step refusing to leave. Police removed the 43-year-old male and he will be lodged until sober.  

 

Break & Enter

On August 27th a resident in the 700 block of 17th Street reported that the home had been broken into while away on vacation. It is suspected that the intruder lived there as appliances were used and food was gone. A supercycle bicycle was also stolen. Police continue to investigate. Breach of Peace

  • There were four incidents with Breach of Peace issued resulting in five people being arrested and lodged until sober to prevent further disturbance.

 

Failure to Comply – Undertaking

On August 27th at 6:22PM police attended a home in 000 block of 13th Street to have a 28-year-old male removed who was bound by an Undertaking not to communicate with the resident there. The male has court on October 28th, 2024.
