Assault Causing Bodily Harm

On August 19th at 8:30AM police were called to the Clarion Hotel at the request of security due to a male causing a disturbance. Upon attending officers found and arrested a sober 19-year-old male who had an endorsed Warrant of Arrest for Assault Causing Bodily Harm. He was released on an Undertaking with a court date of October 17th, 2024, in Oxford House.

 

Breach of Conditional Sentence Order X2

On August 19th the Crown authorized x2 breaches of Conditional Sentence Order (Keep the Peace and Do not convert anything into a weapon) from an incident August 10th, 2024. Police attended Brandon Correctional Centre and arrested and charged a 27-year-old male. He will have court on August 23rd, 2024.

 

Theft Under $5000

As a result of an investigation into a theft at a business in the 900 block of Victoria Avenue, a 36-year-old male, who was found to be held in custody at BCC, was charged. Members attended BCC and informed him of the new charges. Court date August 20th, 2024.

 

Bail Revoked – Warrant for Remand Issued

On August 19th at 3:36PM members attended to a suspicious male sitting in a yard in the 1500 block of Stickney Ave. The 24-year-old male had been released to a family member who then kicked him out. He didn’t want to get breached, so he had been staying in the yard for the last 3 days. An attempt at the Release Order being varied was made; however, Court revoked his bail and remanded him into custody. The male was lodged.

 

Breach of Peace

On August 19th at 11:00PM police were advised that EMS was enroute to Clarion Hotel for an assault victim. A 56-year-old woman was the aggressor; however, there was no complaint from the male victim who had a minor head injury. The female was lodged to prevent further issues.

 

IPDA (Intoxicated Persons Detention Act)

On August 19th at 10:55PM police were called to the Victoria Inn. A 20-year-old male was highly intoxicated. He was lodged and will be released once sober.

 

Impaired Operation / Operation with Equal to or Exceeding 80mgs%

On August 19th at 11:41PM a two-vehicle motor collision at the intersection of 18th Street North and Hilton Avenue was reported. No parties were seriously injured, no smoke, no fire, and the accident did not block flow of traffic. A 24-year-old male was the operator of one of the vehicles involved and he showed signs of impairment at the scene. He was taken to Brandon Police station where samples read 120 and 110mgs%. He was released to his girlfriend on an Appearance Notice with a court date set for August 29th, 2024.
