Police News Release - August 17th, 2025
Warrant
On 2025-08-16 at 1102 hrs, police attended to a residence in the 600 block of 9th Street to conduct a warrant check for a 38-year-old female. The individual has been lodged for court on 2025-08-17.
Failure to Comply with Release Order
On 2025-08-16 at 1159 hrs, police conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle in the 600 block of 34th Street. A check of police records for an intoxicated 22-year-old male passenger revealed him to be bound by conditions to not consume alcohol, as well as a 24 hour curfew. The individual has been lodged for court on 2025-08-17.
Warrant
On 2025-08-16 at 1311 hrs, police attended to a residence in the 1300 block of College Avenue to conduct a warrant check for a 33-year-old female. The individual has been lodged for court on 2025-08-17.
Warrant
On 2025-08-16 at 1333 hrs, police attended to a residence on Garwood Drive to conduct a warrant check for a 51-year-old male. The individual has been lodged for court on 2025-08-17.
Warrant
On 2025-08-16 at 1413 hrs, police received a report of a male causing a disturbance at a business in the 100 block of 17th Street N. The individual was located nearby, and a check of police records revealed an outstanding warrant. The male has been released with conditions to appear in court on 2025-09-12.
Assault
On 2025-08-16 at 1908 hrs, police received a report of intimate partner violence at a residence in the 2300 block of Brandon Avenue. Investigation revealed that a 32-year-old male and a 26-year-old female had assaulted each other with no injuries sustained. The two individuals have been released with conditions to appear in court on 2025-10-20.
Intoxicated Person
On 2025-08-16 at 1955 hrs, police located an intoxicated 24-year-old female in the 800 block of Rosser Avenue. The individual has been lodged and will be released once sober.
Warrant
On 2025-08-16 at 2024 hrs, police conducted a pedestrian stop with a 30-year-old male in the 700 block of 10th Street. A check of police records revealed an outstanding warrant of arrest, and the individual has been lodged to appear in court on 2025-08-17.
Break and Enter/Theft of Motor Vehicle
On 2025-08-15, police received a report of the theft of a 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe from the 1400 block of 6th Street. On the same date, police located the vehicle while being operated by a 35-year-old male, whereby he was arrested and charged for Possession of Property Obtained by Crime. Further investigation has revealed that this male received the vehicle and keys from a 32-year-old male associate who had previously gained access to the vehicle owner’s residence and stole the keys. On 2025-08-16 at 2051 hrs, police located and arrested the second suspect in the 1400 block of 7th Street. The individual has been lodged to appear in court on 2025-08-17.
Warrant/Resist Arrest
On 2025-08-16 at 2312 hrs, police conducted a pedestrian stop with a 35-year-old male outside of an establishment in the 1000 block of 18th Street. A check of police records revealed an outstanding warrant and upon being advised of his arrest the male fled on foot. After a brief foot chase the individual was apprehended and lodged for court on 2025-08-17.

On 2025-08-16 at 2321 hrs, police conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle in the 1800 block of Louise Avenue. A check of police records for a 29-year-old female occupant revealed an outstanding warrant of arrest. The individual has been released with conditions to appear in court 2025-09-15.
Impaired Operation Cause Bodily Harm/Failure to Remain at the Scene of an Accident
On 2025-08-17 at 0110 hrs, police received a report from a homeowner on Canada Crescent regarding a pedestrian that was struck by an SUV which then fled the scene. The operator of the vehicle was known to the witness and the 24-year-old male pedestrian was transported to hospital by ambulance for non-life threatening injuries. Police located the 22-year-old male suspect at his residence and was determined to be impaired by alcohol. The individual was subsequently conveyed to BPS were breath samples confirmed him to have a blood alcohol concentration in excess of the legal limit. The accused has been released with conditions to appear in court on 2025-10-20.
Breach of Peace
On 2025-08-17 at 0255 hrs, police responded to a report of a disturbance at a hotel in the 3400 block of Victoria Avenue. An intoxicated 34-year-old male patron was lodged and will be released once sober.
Warrant
On 2025-08-17 at 0533 hrs, police conducted a pedestrian stop with a 20-year-old female in the 1200 block of Lorne Avenue. A check of police records revealed an outstanding warrant of arrest, and the individual has been lodged to appear in court on 2025-08-17.
