Police News Release - August 16th, 2025

Warrant

On 2025-08-16 at 1032 hrs, police attended to a residence in the 1300 block of 8^th Street and arrested a 40-year-old female for an outstanding warrant.  The individual has been released with conditions to appear in court on 2025-10-21.

Breach of Peace

On 2025-08-15 at 1522 hrs, police attended to the parking lot of a business in the 900 block of Victoria Avenue for a report of a male causing a disturbance.  The individual was lodged and will be released once sober.

Possession of Property Obtained by Crime

On 2025-08-15, the Brandon Police Service received a reported theft of a 2018 Hyndai Sanat Fe from the 1400 block of 6^th Street.  At 1643 hrs, police observed the vehicle being operated and initiated a traffic stop in the 1000 block of 10^th Street.  The 35-year-old male operator was arrested and lodged to appear for court 2025-08-16.

Warrant

On 2025-08-15 at 1653 hrs, police conducted a pedestrian stop with a male in the 600 block of Rosser Avenue.  A check of police records confirmed a warrant of arrest.  The individual has been released with conditions to appear in court on 2025-09-15.

Disorderly

On 2025-08-15, at 1714 hrs, police attended to a licensed establishment in the 0 hundred block of 10^th Street as an individual was causing a disturbance.  An intoxicated 26-year-old female has been lodged and will be released once sober with a ticket for being disorderly at a licensed premises.

Warrant

On 2025-08-15 at 1842 hrs,  police conducted a pedestrian stop with a 20-year-old female in the 700 block of 10^th Street.  A check of police records confirmed a warrant of arrest.  The individual has been lodged to appear for court on 2025-08-16.

Assault Cause Bodily Harm

On 2025-08-15 at 2119 hrs, police attended to the 600 block of Princess Avenue E for a report of an assault.  Investigation revealed that a dispute between neighbors over barking dogs resulted in a 58-year-old male being simultaneously assaulted by a 30-year-old male and a 32-year-old female.  The victim was transported to hospital by ambulance and is in stable condition.  The two suspects have been arrested and released with conditions to appear in court on 2025-10-25.

Intoxicated Person

On 2025-08-16 at 0014 hrs, police attended to the 800 block of Princess Avenue for a report of a highly intoxicated female.  A 49-year-old female was lodged until sober.

Assault

On 2025-08-16 at 0222 hrs, police attended to report of an assault at a residence in the 200 block of 23^rd Street.  A 51-year-old female had visible injuries and disclosed to police that she had been assaulted by her 58-year-old spouse.  The suspect has been arrested and released with conditions to appear in court on 2025-10-27.

Assault Peace Officer

On 2025-08-16 at 0255 hrs, police responded to a residence on Willowdale Crescent after receiving a report intoxicated and aggressive individual.  A 20-year-old female subsequently kicked one of the arresting officers during the interaction.  No injuries sustained by the officer.  The female was lodged and will be released once sober with conditions to appear in court on 2025-10-14.
