Police Media Release - April 28, 2025

Breach of the Peace

On April 27th at 1:25PM there were several calls come in regarding a male causing a disturbance in the 3700 block of Victoria Avenue. Police attended and located the intoxicated 26-year-old male who was the cause of the issues. He was arrested and held in detention cells until sober to prevent continued behavior.

 

Arrest Warrant

On April 27th at 2:54PM a traffic stop was conducted in the 200 block of 23rd Street. A 31-year-old female with Warrants for her arrest was a passenger in the vehicle. She was arrested on her unendorsed Manitoba First Nations Police warrant (Flight from Police, Failure to Comply Undertaking, Failure to Attend Court). She was held in detention cells and will attend court in the morning on April 28th, 2025.

 

Breach of the Peace

On April 27th at 10:04PM an employee from a business in the 400 block of 12th Street reports a drunk female causing issues. Police attended and arrested an intoxicated 18-year-old female. She was held in detention cells and will be released in the morning once sober.

 

Arrest Warrant / New Charge

On April 27th at 11:21PM a known to police 27-year-old male was located in the 100 block of 14th Street. He was arrested on the strength of an endorsed Warrant for Arrest (Breach of Probation) as well as due to being the suspect in an April 26th, 2025, Break Enter and Theft. The incident occurred in the 1400 block of Victoria Avenue. The male was held in detention cells and will attend court in the morning on April 28th, 2025.

 

Mischief Under $5000/ Resist Arrest / Assault Police Officer

On April 27th at 11:07PM Police were called to a residence in the 100 block of 13th Street. The male was bound by a No Contact Order for a female at that residence. The male threw a rock through a window and tried to run away. A short foot chase ensued, and he was taken into custody. While being taken into custody he kicked an officer in the groin. The male was held in detention cells and will attend court in the morning on April 28th, 2025.

 

Assault / Assault by Choking / Assault with a Weapon

On April 28th at 2:08AM Police were called to Brandon Hospital as an ER nurse had been assaulted. Security had detained the suspect. BPS Members attended and learned that a 26-year-old male was hanging around the ER when he approached a nurse, spit in her face then grabbed her around the neck in a choke hold and tried to stab her with a needle/syringe. She managed to get away without injury. Police arrested the male, and he was taken into custody. He was held in BPS detention cells and will attend court in the morning on April 28th, 2025.
