Controlled Burn of Elm Tree Debris Next Week
Brandon, MB - The City of Brandon Parks & Recreation Services has completed the Dutch Elm Disease program for the 2025–26 season. Approximately 150 Elm trees affected by the disease are now part of the debris pile.
A controlled burn of this material will take place at the City‑owned Crystal Pit next week, Feb. 9 -13, 2026.
This burn is conducted in accordance with provincial guidelines and will be monitored continuously by Parks staff. All required permits have been secured through Brandon Fire & Emergency Services.
