Civic Services Complex Re-Opens January 8, 2026

Brandon, MB – The City of Brandon is pleased to announce that repairs on the Civic Services Complex located at 900 Richmond Ave. E. have been officially completed, and staff are preparing to move back into the facility this week.

This re-opening marks the end of a challenging period that began on Thu, Sep. 7, 2023, when an explosion caused major structural damage to the facility. During the closure, temporary accommodations were made at 382 Park Ave. E. to maintain services for residents. 

Starting Thu, Jan. 8, 2026, the Civic Services Complex will re-open to the public during regular business hours 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday. The complex serves as a hub for city departments and operations, including Brandon Transit, Building Maintenance, Fleet Services, Risk Management, Streets & Roads, and Underground Utilities. 

During this transition, part of the Operations team including Streets & Roads, Underground Utilities, and Public Works Administration will be available only by phone at 204-729-2285. Property Damage Claims can be submitted online at brandon.ca or by email at risk.management@brandon.ca. Tree root claims can be submitted online at onlineservices.brandon.ca/RootClaim or by email at roots@brandon.ca. Details on root claims eligibility are outlined in Water and Waste By-Law No. 5957, Section 61.
