About Snow Clearing Operations

Snowfall accumulation, snow density, humidity, fluctuating temperatures, wind velocity and direction, along with the time of year, all influence the City’s response to snow events.

The City uses a priority-based system for street clearing, determined by street classification and traffic volume. Street clearing operations always begin with Priority 1A Route, which includes key streets, sidewalks, and walking paths to ensure safe and efficient mobility for all. In emergency situations, snow removal equipment may be redirected as necessary to support police, fire, or ambulance response vehicles.
