City Council adopted the Vision Zero Road Safety Strategic Plan, developed by the Vision Zero Task Force. Established in 2022, this Task Force was tasked with identifying effective strategies to address road safety concerns and integrating a safe systems approach into the planning, operation, and maintenance of Brandon’s roadways.
As part of its mandate, the Task Force produced the Vision Zero Report Card, a living document that will guide City Administration's efforts over the next three to five years. The report card organizes key initiatives under four themes:
- Safer People
- Safer Roads
- Safer Speeds
- Safer Mindset
The complete strategic plan is available in this Council Report.
Following the completion of the Task Force’s objectives, the strategic plan has been referred to City Administration for integration into standard work plans and procedures related to road safety.
