FCM Active and Safe Routes to School Fund

City Council has approved an application to the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) Green Municipal Fund to enhance the crosswalks at Richmond Ave. and 22nd St. as part of the Active and Safe Routes to School program.

This project aims to make walking or biking to school safer and easier by installing a half traffic signal to help pedestrians cross Richmond Ave. The City's share of the funding will be considered during the 2026 municipal budget discussions.

Memorials In The Right-Of-Way Policy

Council reviewed the Memorials in Right-of-Way Policy, which provides a consistent and respectful process for the request, approval, installation and maintenance of memorials that commemorate victims of fatal motor vehicle collisions.

City Council will consider the adoption of the Memorials in Right-of Way policy at the next regular meeting scheduled on Dec. 15, 2025.

Proposed 2026 Fee Schedule

Council reviewed the draft 2026 Annual Fee Schedule, which outlines the fees for a variety of services and good provided. Fees are reviewed as part of the annual budget process. The proposed revisions to fee schedule reflect costs associated with delivering municipal services and aim to uphold principles of fairness and sustainability.
