Eligibility to Vote

In accordance with s. 21(1) of The Municipal Councils and School Boards Elections Act, in order to vote in the upcoming school division trustee by-election for Ward 1 (City of Brandon) a person must:

•          A Canadian citizen;
•           18 years of age or older by the date of the election (Oct 16, 2007);
•           An actual resident of the ward of the school division for at least six months (since April 16, 2025) at the time of the election;
•           Not disqualified or prohibited under The Public Schools Act or any other Act from voting at elections in the school division.

IDENTIFICATION WILL BE REQUIRED BEFORE BEING ALLOWED TO VOTE.  A person will be required to produce one piece of government issued photo identification (for example - driver’s license) or at least two other documents that provide proof of identity and residence.
