Update Regarding Temporary Dike Closure at Grand Valley Road and 18th Street

As of 9:30 p.m. on July 3rd, the temporary dike closure at the intersection of Grand Valley Road and 18th Street is now fully in place as part of the City of Brandon’s ongoing flood protection efforts.

Provincial flood forecasters indicate the Assiniboine River is expected to begin rising early next week, with current projections showing a peak near July 12.

No additional dike construction work is scheduled over the weekend. Minor site cleanup activities may occur on Monday as crews continue to monitor conditions and prepare for the anticipated rise in river levels.
