Police News Release - September 2nd, 2026

Breach of the Peace
In the past 24 hours two individuals from separate incidents were arrested for Breach of the Peace and held in Brandon Police Service (BPS) detention cells. They will be released once sober.
Protective Detention and Care of Intoxicated Persons
On September 2nd at 4:27 a.m., BPS received a report of an unknown male knocking on the door of a residence in the 900 block of 3rd Street and refusing to leave. The intoxicated 32-year-old male was located and brought to BPS detention cells to be released once sober in the morning.
Arrest Warrants
Over the past 24 hours, BPS officers arrested six individuals on their outstanding Warrants for Arrest. Five were arrested and later released via Undertaking/Appearance Notices with future court dates and one was held in BPS detention cells to attend court in the morning on September 2nd, 2026.
Possession of Property Obtained by Crime / Possession for Purpose of Trafficking (cocaine)
On September 1st at 7:51 p.m., following a traffic stop alongside RCMP with a vehicle in the 3500 block of Victoria Avenue, an investigation into the driver found he was in possession of Cocaine and $7260.00 cash. The 37-year-old male was arrested and later released via Undertaking with a future court date of November 12th, 2026.
Assault IPV
On September 2nd at 5:25 a.m., BPS officers responded to a report of an assault at a residence in the 100 block of Louise Avenue. Police determined that a 34-year-old female had been assaulted by her 22-year-old boyfriend. Officers observed bruising to the victim's face. The 22-year-old male was arrested and brought to BPS detention cells. He is scheduled to appear in court in the morning on September 2nd, 2026, on a charge of Assault.
