Police News Release - September 26th, 2026

Note* The Criminal Code of Canada outlines the procedures for the release of accused persons. If they meet the criteria the Police are obliged to release them on appropriate conditions. It is not the police officer or police services' choice; they are following the rule of law.

Breach of the Peace

In the past 24 hours three individuals from separate incidents were arrested for Breach of the Peace and held in Brandon Police Service (BPS) detention cells. They will be released once sober.

Arrest Warrants

In the past 24 hours two individuals were arrested on the strength of their Warrants for Arrest.  Both were released from custody with future court dates.

Protective Detention and Care of Intoxicated Persons Act

In the past 24 hours, five individuals were arrested under the Protective Detention and Care of Intoxicated Persons Act. All four were brought to BPS detention cells and will be released once sober.
