Police News Release - September 19th, 2026

Note* The Criminal Code of Canada outlines the procedures for the release of accused persons. If they meet the criteria the Police are obliged to release them on appropriate conditions. It is not the police officer or police services' choice; they are following the rule of law.

Breach of the Peace

In the past 24 hours one individual was arrested for Breach of the Peace and held in Brandon Police Service (BPS) detention cells. They will be released once sober.

Protective Detention and Care of Intoxicated Persons Act

In the past 24 hours, three individuals were arrested under the Protective Detention and Care of Intoxicated Persons Act. All four were brought to BPS detention cells and will be released once sober.

Arrest Warrants

Over the past 24 hours, three individuals were arrested on their outstanding Warrants for Arrest. They were released with future court dates. 

Assaults

Over the past 24 hours, Brandon Police investigated four separate assault complaints.  As a result of these investigations two adult males and an adult female were each charged with Domestic Assault.  One adult female was charged with Common Assault.  All these individuals have been released from Police custody with future court dates.
