Police News Release - Sept 24th, 2026

Breach of the Peace
In the past 24 hours three individuals from separate incidents were arrested for Breach of the Peace and held in Brandon Police Service (BPS) detention cells. They will be released once sober.
Arrest Warrants
In the past 24 hours four individuals were arrested on the strength of their Warrants for Arrest. Three were kept in Brandon Police Service (BPS) detention cells for court in the morning. One was released via Appearance Notice with a future court date.
Possession for Purpose of Trafficking (Meth/Cocaine) / Resist Arrest
On September 23rd at 10:55 a.m., police conducted a pedestrian stop involving a male riding a bicycle in the 1900 block of Brandon Avenue. The 39-year-old male was found to be in possession of unstamped tobacco. When advised he was under arrest, he resisted officers before being taken into custody. A subsequent search resulted in the seizure of methamphetamine and cocaine. The male was brought to Brandon Police Service detention cells and held for court on the morning of September 24th, 2026.
Stolen Vehicle Recovered
On September 23rd at 7:55 a.m., Brandon Police Service received a report of a 2012 Chevrolet Silverado stolen from the 500 block of 22nd Street. The vehicle is believed to have been stolen sometime overnight.
At approximately 11:49 a.m., the vehicle was located in the Corral Centre in the 900 block of 18th Street North. The vehicle was recovered and towed. Investigators are obtaining surveillance footage from the area, and the investigation remains ongoing. *Anyone with information related to this theft is asked to contact Brandon Police Service at 204-729-2345 or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers at 204-727-TIPS (8477).
Uttering Threats
On September 23rd at approximately 7:22 a.m., Brandon Police Service received a report that a 53-year-old male had uttered threats toward his neighbour. At approximately 5:51 p.m., officers located the male in the 800 block of Rosser Avenue and arrested him for Uttering Threats. The male was later released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on November 26th, 2026.
Failure to Comply Probation
On September 23rd at 6:25 p.m., BPS conducted a traffic stop in the 200 block of 17th Street. A 27-year-old male passenger was found not to be wearing a seatbelt. During the interaction, officers learned the male was bound by a probation order prohibiting him from possessing weapons. A hatchet was located underneath the passenger seat, and the male was arrested for breaching his court conditions. He was later released on Appearance Notice and is scheduled to appear in court on November 30th, 2026.
Weapons / Mischief / Hunting Charges
On August 6th BPS received a mischief complaint regarding a broken window at a business in the 300 block of Park Avenue East. Surveillance footage showed that on August 3rd at 8:41 p.m., a male exited a black SUV while holding a large knife and ran after a deer. The deer fled from the male and struck the business window, causing the glass to shatter. The deer then ran from the area and appeared to be uninjured.
The male was identified through surveillance footage.
The 26-year-old male was located, arrested, and charged on September 23rd. He was later released on an Appearance Notice and is scheduled to appear in court on November 30th, 2026. He faces charges of Possession of a Weapon, Mischief to Property Under $5000, Hunt out of Season, and Hunting other than with Firearm.
