Police News Release - October 7th, 2026

Breach of the Peace / Protective Detention & Care of Intoxicated Persons Act

In the past 24 hours three individuals from separate incidents were arrested for Protective Detention & Care of Intoxicated Persons Act. 

One individual from a separate incident was arrested for Breach of the Peace. All were brought to Brandon Police Service (BPS) detention cells and will be released once sober.

 

Arrest Warrants

In the past 24 hours two individuals were arrested on the strength of their Warrants for Arrest. Both were released via Appearance Notices with future court dates.

 

Possession for Purpose of Trafficking (Cocaine) / Possession of Proceeds of Crime / Failure to Comply Release Order x2

On October 6th at 11:27 p.m., Brandon Police Service officers conducted a vehicle stop in the 2400 block of Park Avenue. Four occupants were inside the vehicle, and officers observed open alcohol. All occupants were removed from the vehicle, at which time further evidence of drug possession was observed. A 40-year-old female was arrested after officers located cocaine packaged in 15 individual baggies. During a subsequent search of her purse, officers also located $4,850 in cash. The female is currently bound by a Release Order dated September 29th, 2026, stemming from multiple previous drug and weapons offences. The Release Order prohibits her from possessing illegal drugs.

The female was also issued a ticket for Unlawful Transportation of Liquor in a Motor Vehicle. She was transported to BPS detention cells and is scheduled to appear in court in the morning on October 7th, 2026.

 

Breach of Undertaking

On October 6th at 11:37 p.m., BPS officers were called to an apartment in the 300 block of 10th Street regarding a report of a 25-year-old male fighting with a 24-year-old female (previous partner). The male was bound by conditions prohibiting him from having contact with the female due to a previous assault. Upon arrival, officers located both parties, who were intoxicated. The female would not provide information regarding what had occurred that evening. The male was arrested for Breach of Undertaking and transported to BPS detention cells. He is scheduled to appear in court in the morning on October 7th, 2026.
